How do you eat with a 2B Mindset?
There are four rules to follow for the 2B Mindset nutrition program:
- water first
- veggies most
- the scale
- tracking
Water First
It’s essential to drink enough water each day. A lot of the time you may think you are hungry but you are actually thirsty. So one rule to follow is to drink 16 ounces of water before eating anything.
The best way to figure out how much water you need every day is to take your body weight and divide it in half. That number will be how ounces of water you should drink every day.
Veggies Most
I’m sure you know that vegetables are good for you. Veggies are packed with water, vitamins, and minerals. Eating a lot of veggies for weight loss is important because it will keep you full and satisfied. You can have big delicious meals with the addition of more vegetables. It’s possible to lose weight while having big satisfying meals. You don’t have to feel starved to lose weight.
The Scale
Through this program, you are going to find out that the scale is actually your friend. You are going to weigh yourself every day because it’s going to help you stay focused and keep you in the direction you want to be.
Instead of thinking of bigger goals like losing 10 pounds you are only going to focus on losing 2 pounds at a time. 2 pounds is a lot more attainable and when you reach that goal in a small amount of time it will encourage you to keep going.

Tracking
The tracker is important because you’re going to want to track. You will be tracking your weight every day and what you eat. The food you’ll be tracking is anything you put in your mouth. If you eat it you track it.
That way you realize what’s working for you and what’s not. By the food choices you make. If you go on the scale and see that you lost weight then you know what you ate the day before was a good choice and you’ll want to repeat those again.
When you track your food you don’t have to worry about the amount you ate. You only have to track what the food was. Make sure if you eat it, you track it!

Make sure to drink enough water. You should drink at least half your body weight in ounces. So if you weigh 150 pounds plan on drinking 75 ounces of water every day.
Most of the time when we think we are hungry, we are actually thirsty. So when you feel like having a snack drink some water first, then go from there.

Eat More Veggies
Vegetables are the main attraction of your meals while following 2B Mindset. Veggies are full of fiber and they will help you to feel full for a longer amount of time. So make sure to fill your meals with vegetables.
Meal Prep
Meal prepping is always going to help you stay on track. It’s always easier to have food prepared ahead of time. Because when you’re starving it’s easier to choose not-so-healthy foods.
Meal prepping doesn’t have to be complicated. On the weekend you could roast some veggies and cook some chicken breast. Then during the week you can pull out those items from the fridge and throw together a quick meal.

No, you don’t count calories in 2B Mindset. Instead, you use the plate-it method. Also, you’ll be tracking your food. You can do this on the Beachbody app or by using the 2B Mindset paper tracker.
Can you have snacks on 2B mindset?
Yes, you can have snacks on 2B Mindset. But make sure it’s a snack and you’re not snacking (don’t snack all day). If you’re feeling hungry, sit down have a snack, track it and move on.
Illana says the best time to have a snack, is mid-afternoon because your energy can start to slump. So you may need a pick me up.
When you do feel like having a snack make sure to drink your water first. Then if you’re still hungry grab some veggies to snack on. Because you want to make sure all meals start with veggies most.
