The name 645 tells you what to expect from the program. It’s 6 days a week, 45 minutes each day for 13 weeks. 645 is a strength training program also focusing on cardio and mobility training.

Like it says in its name 6 Weeks of the Work is a 6-week program. The workouts are about 45 minutes long. With 36 workouts, 6 days a week, for 6 weeks. The Work is a more intense program worth checking out.

What are the workouts like?

Most of the workouts in this program focus on strength training using body weight and dumbbells.

Some of the workouts will target specific muscle groups and others will be full-body focused.

Chop Wood Carry Water consists of the following formats:

  1. Tempo Strength
  2. Hot Start
  3. EMOM (every minute on the minute) Circuit
  4. Burnout
  5. MixMet
  6. Primal Movement Flow
  7. Recovery

Each workout will start and end with stretching and primal movements.

Everyone has different starting points, goals, and lifestyles. So Amolia has created 3 calendars that allow you to work out 4, 5, or 6 times a week.

Depending on which calendar you choose you’ll be able to finish the program in 4-5 weeks.

How long are the workouts?

Chop Wood Carry Water has a total of 20 workouts. Each workout lasts 25-40 minutes.

Depending on which calendar you choose. You’ll work out four, five, or six days a week. The duration of the program will last at least four or five weeks.

The Last Thing You Need to Know about Chop Wood Carry Water

What I liked about this program was the choice of calendar and the primal movement work.

Since there are several calendars to choose from you can fit this workout into any schedule.

I loved practicing the primal movements. As we age mobility and flexibility are important. It’s easy to skip this in your fitness journey. But when mobility is added into the program it makes it easier to practice.

If you have done Amolia’s other programs before I would say that Chop Wood Carry Water is a combination on 6 Weeks of the Work and 645.

6 Weeks of the Work was intense and challenging while 645 was more easygoing. Some days are challenging but nowhere near as hard as the Crucible. If you know you know!

I enjoyed practicing the primal movement in this program. Since we tend to sit at a desk hunched over a keyboard or on the couch watching TV, it’s beneficial to practice the movement our bodies are designed to do.
